How venue owners start a Bibs text conversation
Bibs offers optional text support to venue owners about their merchandise requests. Welcome notices, design-ready updates, and purchase links are sent by email.
An owner can choose to start a text conversation from the QR code or “Text Bibs” button in a Bibs email. Scanning or tapping opens a draft in the phone's messaging app; it does not send a message automatically.
Disclosure shown in the email
Text Bibs about your venue's merchandise request at +1 805-232-7472. Scanning the QR code or tapping “Text Bibs” opens a draft message that you may choose to send or edit. By tapping Send, you agree to receive conversational texts from Bibs about this request. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.

Example of the email
The image below is a redacted copy of an actual internal-test welcome email received on October 1, 2026. Personal details and the owner's unique QR code and prefilled message have been removed; the disclosure is unchanged.

Illustrative QR and draft
The separate example QR opens a draft addressed to +1 805-232-7472 with this fictional message:
Hey, this is Alex from Example Venue, get me Bibs! Request ID: req_example1234
This example is to demonstrate the message format only. Please do not send it: Example Venue and the request ID are fictional, but the destination is Bibs's real SMS number. Actual venue owners should use their own email invitation.
In the real email, the QR opens a personalized draft and the button reaches the same draft through a request-specific link. The owner's first name, venue name, and request ID come from their merchandise request. The owner may edit the draft and must tap Send to start the conversation.
What happens after the owner sends
The intended approved program sends one receipt acknowledgement, and our team replies to that venue's request. This is not enrollment in promotional texts or recurring SMS notifications.
Current testing status: The email, QR, owner-sent SMS, and internal support-thread delivery have been tested with an internal user. Outbound SMS is disabled pending registration approval and a separate controlled sending test.
